It gives its members the opportunity to apply math and physics concepts taught in the classroom as well as navigate the “human” aspect of working on a project as part of a team. These experiences are valuable because they develop transferrable skills - for example, problem solving expertise and leadership abilities - which translates to success both inside and outside the classroom. The Ten Ton Team aims to prepare its members for both the intellectual and social challenges they will face in their future careers.
